The jukebox is the first to focus attention on capturing web-based video instead of simply offering tools to play it back. A unique extension to the player’s web plugin can automatically detect videos that are recordable from the web and saves multiple clips at one time; this works for both live video events as well as prerecorded shows, Real says. The software is intelligent enough to also recognize copy protection on certain streams and will refuse downloads when DRM appears. Any video can be linked to a friend through a sharing feature to save the trouble of recreating the link.

Equally new in version 11 is Video CD recording. Any saved video recognized by RealPlayer can be burned as a standard VCD, which works both in a large number of DVD players as well as some playback tools on computers without any version of RealPlayer installed. The paid Plus version will also burn directly to DVD.

Overall performance has been given a boost, Real claims, in terms of load times as well as an improved visual interface and a less intrusive install routine. Support for multiple player-specific formats such as QuickTime and Windows Media will carry over from earlier versions.

A public beta of RealPlayer 11 will be available for free beginning in June, the company says, but at first will require Windows as well as either Firefox or Internet Explorer for viewing and saving web-based streams. A Mac version is promised but will be posted later in the year.

Vista Codec Package 4.6.5

With Vista Codec Package installed, you won’t need to install any other codec or filter. Many user suggested default settings are implemented. It does not contain a media player. It does not associates filetypes. With this package installed you will be able to use any media player (limited only by the players capabilities) to play DVD’s, movies and video clips of any format. Vista Codec Package does not associates filetypes. With this package installed you will be able to use any media player (limited by the players capabilities) to play DVD’s, movies and video clips such as quicktime, realmedia, avi, mpeg, Flv, swf, wmv, etc. Streaming video is supported in most web browsers. By default you shouldn’t need to make any adjustments to enjoy your media content immediately.

Users have the ability to choose what is installed using the public redistributable and after an unattended install, you can select to remove specific portions without removing the entire package. Future releases will recognize previous releases and perform upgrade installations.

1. Archive names in rar.log error log file always include the full path.
2. WinRAR tray icon is compatible with high DPI display modes.
3. If you modified a file in archive with encrypted names using an external editor, WinRAR will not ask for archive password again when prompting to update a file. It will use a password which you entered when opening an archive,
4. Bugs fixed:
a) switch -tl and “Set archive time to latest file time” option could fail in previous version. Sometimes they set archive time to current system time instead of latest file time;
b) if -ag switch mask contained archive number, month and minute characters, WinRAR placed ‘I’ character instead of minute value into generated archive name for archive numbers exceeding 1;
c) high ASCII names in ISO files using ISO 9660 format without Joliet format extension were displayed incorrectly;
d) WinRAR could crash when decompressing some of corrupt RAR archives;
e) if “Turn PC off when done” option was set in “Convert archives” command, WinRAR turned PC off after converting the first archive in selected group instead of after converting the entire group;
f) if user specified a non-existent destination path in SFX archive in Vista, SFX could enter into infinite “create new SFX window” loop;
g) WinRAR could fail to unpack an individual file from subfolder of ACE archive using the drag and drop.
